Age: He's from medieval Transylvania, which gives us a large range. No canon date, though, he forgot.

Crime: Lying.

Mihai has a habit of lying, or saying things that cannot be verified easily - from telling the children from his work agency that the mission he was giving them was an easy one, when in fact it could easily result in death, to talking big about titles he received in Transylvania (Gourmet Society of Transylvania, Transylvania's Sewing Box, etc,) with no proof to back it up. He also accuses Inugami of flirting and hitting on him ten years ago, although we cannot say this is how he truly sees it, or if he is lying to put Inugami in a weird spot. Just a lying, manipulative little guy.

Background: Kemono Jihen Wiki, although it's missing a bit of the last manga developments, and the synopsis can be found on the chapter pages. In his own words, Mihai was bored in Romania, which led him to put up an advertisement asking for help slaying a vampire. He went to the trouble of buying an old, dark castle so that nobody would doubt his beast status, and he waited in there for people to come and attempt to murder him.

He states that many charlatans appeared to fight him, and Inugami, a tanuki who works at the Inugami Detective Office (the kemono office acts as intermediaries between humans and kemono), was hiding amongst them. Inugami tells Mihai he lost his partner, and needed a new partner that couldn't die to join him, which Mihai interpreted as "he asked me to elope with him". He says they fought for a rather long time (possibly years) until he decided that Inugami was very invested, and he might as well see where it goes. He's been an employee at the Office for three years, providing intel and technology support to the members in their missions - although frequently, he ditches work for MMORPG, or acts as an opposing force on the agency's members for his own amusement.



Personality:

One of Mihai's most important traits is that he is an undying, ancient being. With so many years under his belt, his interest in life has gradually declined - he has studied extensively, and learned more than a single person can in their lifespan, and with his extreme grit and dedication, he mastered a large number of skills in attempts to soothe the boredom in which he drowned in for the past centuries. His interest is always in hyperfocused stances, so should something new and exciting catch his attention, it has all of him until it subsides to the next activity he might latch onto, as he continuously seeks unfamiliar experiences that might fill that tedium only immortality brings.

It also generates interest in others, especially beings with shorter life-spans, such as humans and different kemonos that may live less than him. The inevitability of an end makes their decisions and traumas much more vivid and crucial to their journey, and Mihai tends to want to poke at those things with a sprinkle of manipulation to watch for responses and possible reactions of others to situations that he is either aiding them in or working against them through it. A good example of this is when he lied to the children who work in the Detective Office concerning a deadly mission, deeming it easy and having the children take it and solve it. Through it, Mihai expressed disappointment at how careful they were for children, and upon realizing one of them had related traumas to the situation, he worked against him to push him in a better direction.

Albeit a difficult person, he is not outright malicious. He aids Shiki in training by creating an immersive VR video-game so he can learn how to use his kemono skills in battle, making his meals, setting him up to sleep, and overall taking care of the boy while he was inside the game. That said, he is considered volatile and is considered a dangerous individual if in a bad mood or bored.

Another point to mention is his vanity. Mihai finds himself to be incredible, a lover of praise and truth be told, that is the number one way to get him to do anything. He holds several titles of impossible verification, as explained in his crime, and he loathes when people don't believe his capabilities and skills. That said, he also hates being scolded. Disappears a-real quick should that be coming.

TLDR; he does what he wants, he has a permit.

Abilities:

KEMONO

Kemono is just another word for "Yokai" or "Monster". The author describes them as "animals", having ghouls and baketanukis in the same category as cats and dogs. Kemonos take all kinds of forms, and nearly all Kemono are able to mimic animal and human forms. Mihai is a Vampire, which is a category within the Demon Clans along with Onis, at the top of the food chain with high capabilities. While omnivorous, their appetite has a different craving that requires eating/drinking from humans for nutrition and satisfaction.

KEMONO FORM

We have only seen Mihai's half-kemono form in a flashback, he has wings, I assume he is able to fly. I headcanon that the animal he embodies would be a bat, considering, well. This.

STRENGTH

While we don't know the extent of it, we know he is inhumanely strong. He managed to defeat a ghoul in an arm wrestling competition, although he was injured in the process. I would probably go with these for when he's not in kemono form, just for reference.

HEALING

We know that to heal a broken wrist completely, it takes him a whole week. It's quicker than a human, but not immediate and he will still have to endure the injury for days before it heals.

INTELLECT

He's highly intelligent, studious and quick to learn, and he's able to multitask like a beast (playing videogames with his hand, coding with his feet, no joke). He has a myriad of skills, from videogame creation, to YouTubeing, sewing, cooking, engineering...

IMMORTALITY

The specifics of his immortality are unknown, it seems that there is a specific way to slay Vampires that has not yet been revealed, but of course, his immortality is null in the game. He also has eternal youth, being from medieval Romania, he might be in his thousands, but he doesn't look a day over mid/late twenties.

WEAKNESSES

The author states that Mihai, as a kemono, has sunlight and garlic sensitivities, but he can enter houses without permission and he has a reflection, which makes the general universal lore not accurate for his case. Inugami's office has windows, and it doesn't seem to bother him, so I assume it's harsh and direct sunlight upon him that will burn, and the garlic might act as an strong allergy.
